Island Walks - The Forts
Distance :: 2.8 km
Catch the bus to Radical Bay bus stop and follow the signs to this historic landmark. The Fort walk is a comfortable distance and depending on fitness levels can suit from ages 5 upwards. The views are spectacular and there is lots of wildlife to see along the track. Remember good shoes, hat, sunscreen and adequate water are essential and don't forget your camera as the views are breathtaking.
We recently did this one under the full moonlight and it was brilliant, the youngest member of our group had was six, all the kids has pen lights and we left about 7:30pm. The view of the moon and surrounding ocean under the full moon was spectacular you feel like you could touch the stars - I would definitely recommend this adventurous walk if you visit during a full moon, it's a once and a life-time experience, the kids love the wildlife along the way such as the owls, possums and insects.
